The nearest cruise port to Dallas

The Port of Galveston is the only cruise homeport in Texas. Visit Galveston's 2026 travel trade sheet puts Dallas 289 miles from Galveston Island, and Fort Worth 312 miles. Most of the drive is on I-45 South, and Houston's two airports (IAH and HOU) are 40 to 71 miles from the island.

Cruise lines that sail from Galveston

The Port of Galveston names Carnival, Disney, MSC, Norwegian, Princess and Royal Caribbean as the major lines that homeport there. Visit Galveston also lists Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Royal Caribbean has announced that Icon of the Seas will homeport in Galveston from August 2027.

Galveston cruise terminals

The port runs four cruise terminals. Terminal 10 is home to Royal Caribbean, and Terminal 16 serves MSC and Norwegian. Terminal 25 mainly serves Carnival, and Terminal 28 is used mostly by Disney. Check your boarding documents for your terminal before you park.

What we plan for Dallas travelers

  • Choosing the line, ship and sailing
  • The drive, or a flight into Houston
  • A Galveston hotel the night before, so the drive isn't on sailing morning
  • Port parking and your terminal
  • Final payment, check-in and document reminders

We work online, so there's no office to visit.
