Ahoy, families! I'm Captain Sail, the guide for Book with the Captain, an independent travel advisor of Fora Travel. If you're looking at a Disney cruise from Port Canaveral or a Disney cruise from Galveston, the first question is simple: which ship sails from your port, and when? Here's the lineup, checked against Disney Cruise Line's own itinerary flyer.

Quick facts: Disney Cruise Line at these two ports
- Port Canaveral, FL: Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy and Disney Treasure in fall 2026 and spring 2027, with Disney Dream joining from late April 2027.

Disney cruises from Port Canaveral, ship by ship
Here's what Disney's Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 itinerary flyer lists from Port Canaveral.
Disney Wish
3- and 4-night Bahamian cruises visiting Nassau, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay, through April 22, 2027. Disney's summer 2027 announcement says the Wish then heads to Europe.
Disney Fantasy
3-, 4- and 5-night Bahamian cruises, plus 5-night Western Caribbean cruises to Cozumel. Disney's summer 2027 announcement says the Fantasy stays at Port Canaveral and adds a 10-night Southern Caribbean sailing.
Disney Treasure
7-night Western Caribbean cruises (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth, Castaway Cay) and 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises (Tortola, St. Thomas, Castaway Cay). The summer 2027 announcement says the Treasure keeps sailing 7-night trips from Port Canaveral.
Disney Dream
3- and 4-night Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral starting April 27, 2027, per the flyer, and continuing into summer 2027.

Captain's tip: For a first family cruise, a 3- or 4-night Bahamas trip is a low-stress test run. Keep the 7-night Caribbean trip for when you know your crew loves cruising.
Good to know: Port Canaveral has more than one cruise terminal. Check your cruise documents for yours before you set your GPS.
Disney cruises from Galveston: a seasonal ship
Galveston's Disney season is shorter and set by one ship. According to Disney's flyer, the Disney Magic arrives on a 14-night Panama Canal cruise from San Diego that leaves November 6, 2026.
From November 20, 2026 to April 2027, the Magic sails from Galveston on:
- 4-night Western Caribbean cruises to Progreso
- 5-night Western Caribbean cruises to Cozumel and Progreso
- 7-night Bahamian cruises to Nassau and Castaway Cay, with four sea days
On April 25, 2027, the Magic leaves Galveston on a 14-night Panama Canal cruise back to San Diego.

Which port fits your family?
Pick the port first, then the ship. Some quick ways to decide:
- You live in Texas or nearby: Galveston means you can drive to the ship, but only during the Magic's season.
- You want the most choice: Port Canaveral has the most Disney ships and trip lengths.
- You want a short first cruise: 3- and 4-night Bahamas trips sail from Port Canaveral.
- You want St. Thomas: the Treasure's 7-night Eastern Caribbean route includes it on most sailings (a few swap in San Juan).
- You're planning spring break: see my spring break 2027 family cruises from Florida guide.

Cozumel shows up on routes from both ports: on the Fantasy and Treasure from Port Canaveral, and on the Magic's 5-night trips from Galveston.
Captain's tip: If you're flying in, arrive the day before. My arrive-a-day-early guide explains why it saves stress with kids.
Also sailing from Fort Lauderdale
Disney's flyer also lists Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) for fall 2026 and spring 2027, with the Disney Destiny and Disney Dream. It's worth a look if South Florida is easier for you.
Your family cruise checklist
- Choose your port: Port Canaveral, Galveston or Fort Lauderdale
- Match your dates to the ship sailing then
- Pick a trip length: 3 to 4 nights, or 5 to 7
- Check passports or birth certificates for every family member
- Plan your drive or flight, and a night before if flying
- Confirm your terminal on your booking documents
- Re-check the itinerary close to sailing; it can change

FAQ
Which Disney ships sail from Port Canaveral?
Disney's Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 flyer lists Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy and Disney Treasure at Port Canaveral, with Disney Dream starting 3- and 4-night Bahamas cruises in late April 2027. The Wish heads to Europe for summer 2027. Disney notes that itineraries and sail dates are subject to change.
Does Disney Cruise Line sail from Galveston year-round?
No. Disney's flyer shows the Disney Magic sailing from Galveston from November 20, 2026 to April 2027, with 4-, 5- and 7-night cruises. It then leaves on April 25, 2027 for a Panama Canal cruise to San Diego. Check Disney's site for any later Galveston seasons.
Where do Disney cruises from Galveston go?
According to Disney's flyer, the Magic's 4-night cruises visit Progreso, its 5-night cruises visit Cozumel and Progreso, and its 7-night Bahamian cruises visit Nassau and Castaway Cay with four sea days. Ports and order can change, so confirm the itinerary for your exact sail date before you book.
Is a 3- or 4-night Disney cruise good for a first cruise?
For many families, yes. Short Bahamas trips from Port Canaveral on the Wish, Fantasy and, from late April 2027, the Dream let you try cruising with less time and planning. If your kids love it, a 7-night Caribbean trip on the Treasure is a natural next step.
