Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas: Winter Guide

A calm, swimmable beach on the Sea of Cortez, seven pools and a private marina. Here's how I help you plan a winter stay at Four Seasons Los Cabos.

When the temperature drops, a lot of my clients start dreaming about the same thing: warm sun, calm water and a resort where nobody needs to plan anything. Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas checks every one of those boxes, and right now there's a resort credit offer for stays booked and taken by mid-December.

I'm the independent travel advisor behind Book with the Captain, affiliated with Fora Travel. Cruises are my first love, but the hotels around them (and the trips that need no ship at all) are a big part of what I plan. Here's my winter guide to this East Cape resort.

Why Costa Palmas feels different from the rest of Cabo

Most people picture Los Cabos as the busy Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Costa Palmas sits somewhere else entirely: the East Cape, on the shores of the Sea of Cortez, about 45 minutes by car from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), according to the resort.

That location brings three big advantages:

Rooms, suites and villas

The resort opened in October 2019 and has 141 accommodations: 114 guest rooms and 27 suites, per its press fact sheet. Every room has an ocean view and a private terrace, and many options include private plunge pools.

Pools, beach and the marina

Seven pools

The resort has seven pools: a lap pool, two family pools, one adults-only pool and three arroyo pools. That variety matters in winter, when families and couples are both traveling. Kids can splash in the family pools while adults find quiet at the adults-only pool.

The private marina

Costa Palmas has a full-service private marina that can accommodate yachts and sailboats up to 250 feet. For guests, it's the launch point for sunset sails and day trips. The resort says it's the only Los Cabos beach resort with direct access to Cabo Pulmo from its marina, a protected marine area known for snorkeling and diving.

Winter on the water

Winter is a popular time to visit Baja for wildlife, and the Sea of Cortez is known for its marine life. I'll help you look into seasonal excursions and what's realistic for your dates, since wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

Golf, spa and fitness

Dining

The resort lists 13 options for dining and drinks, plus 24-hour in-room dining. With a resort this secluded, having that much variety on site matters: you won't feel the need to drive into town every night unless you want to.

Kids and teens

Kids For All Seasons is the resort's supervised, year-round kids' program, and there's a dedicated teen centre. For winter break and holiday trips, it gives parents a little time to themselves while kids stay busy.

The current offer: "Experience More" (verified Oct 22, 2026)

Here are the terms as listed on the Fora portal:

Offer from Four Seasons; select dates, terms apply. Subject to availability.

What this means for a winter trip

Because travel must happen by December 18, 2026, this offer suits early-winter getaways: a pre-holiday escape, a December birthday or anniversary, or a family trip before the holiday rush. Holiday-week stays after December 18 fall outside the window.

When to visit in winter

Winter is one of the most popular times to visit Los Cabos. That's great for weather, but it also means the best rooms and villas can book up around the holidays. If you have flexible dates, early December can be a sweet spot, and it lines up with the current offer.

Pairing it with a cruise

Los Cabos is also a port on many Mexican Riviera cruises. If you're combining a cruise with a resort stay, I can help you plan the hotel nights around your sailing. Since Costa Palmas is on the East Cape, it's better as a stand-alone stay or a pre- or post-trip escape than a quick night before a ship.

How booking with me works

  1. Tell me your dates, who's coming and the kind of trip you want.
  2. I check availability across room types and whether your stay qualifies for the offer.
  3. I explain the options plainly and book what fits.
  4. I'm your one real person before, during and after the trip.

There are no Book with the Captain fees and no markup on cruise and hotel bookings.

FAQ

Where is Four Seasons Los Cabos at Costa Palmas?

Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos at Costa Palmas is on the East Cape of Los Cabos, on the Sea of Cortez near La Ribera. It's about 45 minutes by car from Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), which keeps the transfer manageable while giving you a quieter setting away from the busier parts of Los Cabos.

Is the beach swimmable?

Yes. The resort sits on a 2-mile swimmable beach on the calm Sea of Cortez. That's a real advantage in Los Cabos, where not every beach is safe for swimming. It makes the resort a great choice for families and anyone who wants to spend their days in the water.

Is it good for families?

Yes. The resort has two family pools, the Kids For All Seasons program, a teen centre, and multi-bedroom suites and villas. That mix gives kids and teens their own spaces while giving parents room to relax, which makes it a strong pick for families and multigenerational trips.

Is there an adults-only pool?

Yes. One of the resort's seven pools is adults-only, so couples and grown-up travelers have a quieter place to relax. With family pools elsewhere on the property, it's easy for everyone to find the setting they prefer, whether that's a lively family scene or a calm afternoon by the water.

What's the current offer?

The "Experience More" offer includes a resort credit for stays of at least 3 nights, booked and taken through December 18, 2026: $500 for a guest room, $1,000 for a suite and $1,500 for a villa or residence rental. Offer from Four Seasons; select dates, terms apply.

Does it cost more to book through a travel advisor?

No. There are no Book with the Captain fees and no markup on cruise and hotel bookings. When you book with me, I compare your options, recommend specific cabins or rooms, handle the booking, and stay with you before, during and after the trip, so you have one person to help.
