If you enjoy a little time at the tables or slots on vacation, Celebrity Cruises' casino is worth knowing about before you sail. Celebrity puts it simply: "Our smoke-free casinos have it all. Like action-packed tournaments, exciting new slot machines and themes, an unparalleled casino rewards program—and of course—all your favorite games."

I'm Captain Sail, the guide for Book with the Captain, an independent travel advisor affiliated with Fora Travel. This guide covers what Celebrity says about its casinos, how the Blue Chip Club works, how to charge play to your SeaPass, and how to make the most of a casino offer. Everything here comes from Celebrity's official pages, read October 23, 2026.

Smoke-free casinos

For many travelers, smoke is the deciding factor on whether they'll spend time in a cruise casino. Celebrity describes its casinos as smoke-free in its own words: "Our smoke-free casinos have it all."

Policies can differ by itinerary, so if a smoke-free environment matters to you or someone in your group, check Celebrity's current guest conduct policy for your specific sailing before you go. I'm glad to help you look into it when we plan.

Who can play

Celebrity's conduct policy states: "Guests must be at least 18 years of age to gamble in casinos onboard our ships, except for in Alaska where the minimum age is 21."

If you're traveling with teens or young adults, keep this in mind when planning evenings, especially on an Alaska cruise.

What you'll find in the casino

Celebrity's casino page lists:

Celebrity also mentions tournaments, which are a fun way to play with a set buy-in and a bit of friendly competition.

Blue Chip Club: how points work

The Blue Chip Club is Celebrity's casino rewards program. Its tiers are Pearl, Onyx, Amethyst, Sapphire, Sapphire Plus and Ruby.

Earning points

On slots, you earn 1 point per $5 played, and 1 point per $15 on video poker.

Complimentary drinks

From Celebrity's FAQ: "Drinks are only complimentary in the casino for Blue Chip Club members Onyx status and above."

Tier tips

Charging play to your SeaPass

Celebrity's casino page says: "Use your SeaPass® in The Casino for cashless wagering. Guests can post to their onboard folio account starting at a daily maximum of $5,000 on slot machines and $5,000 on table games.* A valid credit card is required. The convenience fee is waived with Blue Chip Club Amethyst, Sapphire, Sapphire Plus, and Ruby status."

If you'd like a credit or wire arrangement, Celebrity says the application "Must be completed a minimum of 2 weeks prior to sailing." Add that to your pre-cruise checklist if it applies to you.

How to use a Celebrity casino offer

After you play, you may receive a casino offer for a future sailing. For redeeming offers, Celebrity's casino promotion terms point members to their Casino Representative "or contact your professional Travel Advisor."

That means you have choices. If you'd like a second set of eyes on the details, ask me about your casino offer. I can help you compare the sailing with your plans, think through cabin choices, and line up the rest of the trip, like flights and a pre-cruise hotel.

A simple plan for your casino time

You don't need to be a high roller to enjoy a cruise casino. A little planning goes a long way:

  1. Decide your budget before you board. Pick a total for the whole cruise, then divide it by the number of nights. When the night's amount is gone, you're done for the evening.
  2. Pick your games. Slots and table games feel very different. If you're new to a game, start small and watch a few hands or spins first.
  3. Know how your play is tracked. Your play only counts toward the casino program if it's linked to your account, so use your card or app every time.
  4. Keep an eye on your onboard account. Charging play to your cabin is convenient, but it adds up. Check your account in the app or at guest services during the cruise, not just on the last night.
  5. Balance the casino with everything else. Shows, dining, spa time and port days are part of what you paid for. Plan your casino nights around them.

Questions to ask about any casino offer

When a casino offer arrives after your cruise, read it slowly. These are the questions I'd ask:

When you're comparing an offer with other sailings, add up the full cost: the cruise itself plus flights, a pre-cruise hotel, drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities and excursions. Travel insurance is optional, and I'm happy to explain the choices.

Play responsibly

Casino play should be entertainment, never a way to "earn" a vacation. Set a budget before you sail, take breaks, and walk away when you reach your limit. If gambling stops feeling fun, help is available through organizations such as the National Council on Problem Gambling (1-800-GAMBLER in the U.S.).
